Wishing himself a happy birthday, Kunal put up posters with his picture on them. He revealed that he placed the posters all around the city.

Sharing the photo, he wrote, “Why should politicians have all the fun?! Let’s all start putting posters of ourselves around the cities. Wishing ourselves, our families and friends. If you can’t beat them, let’s join them and deface the city together.”

The actor was flooded with birthday wishes from netizens, after which he clarified that it’s actually not his birthday. His birthday falls on October 18.

Kunal Kapoor`s work front

The actor was last seen in the film Jewel Thief, which was released on Netflix earlier this year. Kapoor, who plays a cop in the movie, says that commercial entertainers are more difficult to pull off than serious films. “People assume it’s difficult to make a serious film. I think it’s even more difficult to make an entertaining film, especially a thriller. It’s hard to get it right because you need to keep the audience hooked. That’s why it’s important that you work with the right people,” says the actor, who returned to films after four years.

The Netflix heist thriller marked his return to movies after a four-year hiatus. Speaking to mid-day, Kapoor shared that the break wasn’t voluntary but caused by uninspiring script offers. Having spent 25 years on movie sets- as a production assistant, assistant director, and eventually an actor- he said, “I am happiest on a movie set. But I wasn’t feeling excited about what was coming my way. So the break wasn’t due to lack of desire. It gave me time to develop work that I enjoy—like having writers’ rooms develop scripts, some I want to act in and some I want to produce. It also gave me incredible time with my son, who is three years old now. That was the good part of not getting the right scripts.”
