15-year-old dies by suicide at her home in Faridabad`s Sector 14

A 15-year-old girl died by suicide at her house in Sector 14 of Faridabad, police said on Thursday, adding that the girl may have had mental illness.

According to the police, the girl`s family members said that she had been undergoing treatment for a long time, reported PTI.

She was studying in Class 10 of a private school. On Wednesday, after returning home from school, she took the extreme step when she was alone in the house.

Her father had gone for work and her mother was also out, police said.

Later, when her mother returned home, she found her daughter dead and raised an alarm, the police added.

A senior police officer said a post-mortem examination has been conducted, and the body has been handed over to the girl`s family.

Further investigation is underway, the officer added. 

Gujarati actor’s 14-year-old son dies by suicide in Mumbai after argument over tuition

The 14-year-old son of an actor allegedly died by suicide in the Kandivali area of Mumbai following an argument over going to tuition, a police officer said on Thursday.

According to the police, the boy took the extreme step at 6 pm on Wednesday at the residential complex where the actor, who has worked in popular Gujarati and Hindi television serials, stays in a 51st floor flat, PTI reported.

“On Wednesday, the Class 9 student was asked by his mother to go for tuition but he was reluctant, which led to an argument. The boy left the house at 6 pm, climbed down a couple of floors and then took the extreme step. His mother was alerted about the incident by a resident,” the officer said.

“No foul is suspected as yet. An accidental death report has been registered and further probe is underway,” the Kandivali Police Station officer informed.

Sources said police might visit the boy`s school and tuition centre as part of the probe, PTI reported.
