Markets bounce back in early trade on buying in bank stocks
Stock market benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty rebounded in early trade on Wednesday after heavy drubbing in the previous session amid buying in blue-chip bank stocks and a firm trend in Asian peers. The 30-share BSE benchmark gauge Sensex bounced back in early trade and climbed 267.68 points to 81,454.12. The NSE Nifty went up by 82.25 points to 24,766.15.
Mumbai rains: Unseasonal rain cripples the city in a watery mess
Unseasonal rain wreaked havoc across the city and suburbs, leading to waterlogging, shut subways and crawling trains. Sources said both the eastern and western express highways were majorly affected. Incomplete concreting work added to the problems. One lane on each side of the highway was rendered unusable owing to choked drains, forcing vehicles to squeeze through limited space and significantly slowing down traffic movement. Read more.
Lucknow man arrested in Mumbai for defrauding over 100 women via matrimonial sites
The LT Marg police have arrested a Lucknow-based man accused of defrauding over 100 women through matrimonial websites. The scam came to light after a 34-year-old schoolteacher filed a complaint, alleging that the accused had cheated her of more than Rs 8 lakh. Read more.

Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma begin shoot for King; Shah Rukh Khan to join later
Shah Rukh Khan-starrer King, which also marks actor-daughter Suhana Khan’s first theatrical release, is finally set in motion. Last week, mid-day had reported a slight delay in the shoot, which was supposed to go on floors on May 16 (After the conflicts, before normalcy, May 12). Now, well-placed sources tell us that director Sidharth Anand has begun filming the ambitious action drama, though sans the King himself.
