About Brahmastra
Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva was directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Star Studios, Prime Focus, and Starlight Pictures. Alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, the film also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Mouni Roy, with a special cameo by Shah Rukh Khan.
The movie, a fantasy adventure, introduced audiences to the Astraverse – a cinematic universe inspired by Indian mythology. It narrates the journey of Shiva (Ranbir Kapoor), a young man discovering his powers, alongside Isha (Alia Bhatt). The franchise has already announced Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev, and fans are eagerly awaiting the next chapter, praised for its VFX, scale, and visionary storytelling.
After Brahmastra, Ayan Mukerji took up Yash Raj Films` ambitious movie War 2, part of the spy universe. The filmmaker worked extensively on the film that also marked the debut of Jr NTR in Bollywood. The film saw Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan pitted against each other. However, the film tanked at the box office and received largely negative reveiews from the audience and critics alike. It turned out to be the poorest film in the spy universe.
