Farhan Akhtar on raising daughters Shakya and Akira
When asked if his girls have ever visited his film sets, the actor says, “They have sporadically come. Shakya came on the sets of Don and Lakshya. Akira came on the sets of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. They are happy girls, doing things independently.”
Talking about how he has raised them away from the limelight, Farhan remarks, “My intention has always been to keep them away from it, rather than expose them too much. Not because I feel it is a big, bad world or anything; I don’t have those problems. I feel like attention is something you need to earn. You should not take it for granted just because of who you are. If at all in life anyone chooses to be in the field of art, I wish them luck and want them to be successful. But it would be nice if they earn it. For them, it was good not to get used to being someone’s daughter. I keep them away from that because I feel you should work for it.”
Farhan on first meeting with Shibani
Adhuna is a hairstylist by profession, and she and Farhan met on the sets of Dil Chahta Hai. After parting ways in 2017, the 120 Bahadur actor married Shibani Dandekar in 2022.
Recalling their first meeting while he was still married, Farhan shared, “Our first meeting was in 2015, when I was hosting and she was a contestant. It was one of those challenge shows that tests their skill. That’s where we first met. I won’t say we hit it off, but we were courteous and polite to each other. At that time, I was still married. Many years later, it’s weird how life works. I had seen her hosting the IPL and stuff and had never met her. And suddenly, we met randomly. One thing led to another, and we became friends. From there, we decided to take it to a whole another level.”
