Farhan Akhtar recently returned to acting after a four-year hiatus with 120 Bahadur. The actor will next work on his much-anticipated project, Don 3, starring Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon. While the film has faced several roadblocks, the actor has shared a major update about it. He has confirmed that the action is all set to go on floors next year.

In a conversation with Filmfare, when asked about the progress of Don 3, Farhan gave a clear and definitive answer. He said, “We start filming next year. That`s probably the biggest update that I can give you.” This confirmation will certainly make fans happy, who have been following the news about Don 3 ever since the casting of Ranveer Singh was announced.
About Don 3
Talking about the film, it was announced in 2024 with Ranveer as the lead. Kiara Advani was also confirmed as the leading lady in the film; however, she backed out of the project after embracing motherhood. After her exit, the makers approached Kriti Sanon, and she will now play the female lead.
Reportedly, a statement from the production house has been released, which says, “Farhan Akhtar is also preparing for his next directorial venture, Don 3, which is expected to go on the floors in January 2026. The film will feature Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon in leading roles.”
Social media is buzzing with several names for the role of the main antagonist in Don 3. It is no secret that Vikrant Massey is no longer attached to the project. In the statement, the makers shared, “Casting for the film is underway, with the makers in talks with a top A-list actor to take on the intense antagonist role.”
Ranveer and Kriti’s upcoming movies
Before moving on to Don 3, Kriti Sanon will wrap up shooting for the Aanand L. Rai-directed Tere Ishk Mein and the Dinesh Vijan-produced Cocktail 2. She is also in talks for a horror thriller titled Nai Naveli with Aanand L. Rai, scheduled for 2026. Meanwhile, Ranveer is gearing up for the release of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar, which is set to hit the screens on December 5.
