Dharmendra prayer meet: Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan arrive together

Many celebrities marked their presence on Thursday evening for the prayer meet of actor Dharmendra. He passed away on November 24 at the age of 89. Bollywood superstar Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, along with husband Abhishek Bachchan, marked their presence at the prayer meet held in Mumbai. 

Celebrities arrive for prayer meet

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was also seen arriving at the venue of the prayer meet held in Mumbai on November 27. Shabana Azmi, Sharman Joshi, Vijay Varma, Manish Malhotra, and many other personalities were seen at the prayer meet. Bobby Deol was visibly emotional as he arrived at the venue.  A few hours ago, actors Sidharth Malhotra and Abhay Deol were also seen visiting the venue of the prayer meet. The invite was headlined as “CELEBRATION OF LIFE” instead of “Prayer Meet”. It further read, “Dharmendra, 8 December 1935 – 24 November 2025, November 27, 2025, 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm,” followed by the address of the location. If reports are to be believed, Bollywood star singer Sonu Nigam will be singing songs of the late superstar at the prayer meet to celebrate Dharmendra and his legacy.

Dharmendra death and funeral

Legendary actor Dharmendra died on Monday, November 24, at the age of 89, marking the end of a monumental era in Indian cinema. His final rites were performed at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai, on Monday.  The beloved star, often hailed as the He-Man of Indian Cinema, had been unwell for a while, struggling with age-related ailments. He was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on November 10 after complaining of breathlessness.

Two days later, he was discharged and shifted to his Juhu home, where he continued treatment. Despite the family`s efforts, the actor passed away on November 24. Dharmendra is survived by his family, including first wife, Prakash Kaur, and their kids Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta, and Ajeita, as well ashis  second wife, actress Hema Malini and their children, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan and Salman Khan were among the first actors to arrive at the crematorium on the day Dharmendra passed away to pay their last respects to the late superstar. Abhishek was seen arriving along with his father, megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

Megastar Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan had also arrived at the crematorium to bid Dharmendra a final goodbye.
