Nepotism, self-aggrandizement anathema to democratic system: SC

The Supreme Court has cancelled flat allotments made by a Haryana government housing society. The court found the allotments to a governing body member and his subordinate to be arbitrary and biased. Nepotism and self-aggrandizement were cited as reasons for the cancellation. The court also imposed costs on the housing society and the individuals involved.
