The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi has issued an advisory on Thursday, addressing Indian nationals in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) amid the prevailing situation in West Asia that has led to temporary disruptions in airspace and flight operations.
In the advisory, the Embassy urged all Indian nationals currently in the UAE to remain vigilant, stay calm, and strictly adhere to the safety guidelines issued by the UAE authorities. They are also advised to follow official advisories from time to time to ensure their well-being.
Due to exceptional circumstances, the UAE`s airspace and regular scheduled flight operations continue to remain temporarily suspended. However, Indian airlines along with UAE carriers have started limited non-scheduled flight operations to various destinations in India. These flights are being operated in coordination with UAE authorities and are subject to necessary operational and safety approvals. Stranded Indian nationals are encouraged to contact their respective airlines to avail themselves of these options.
For individuals stranded after February 28, 2026, whose visas (including tourist/visit visas) have expired due to these circumstances, the UAE`s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Authority (ICP) has announced a waiver of overstay fines. This measure provides relief to those unable to depart as planned. The related media advisory from UAE ICP is available at https://www.wam.ae/a/bz190lg.
