Chandigarh is set to overhaul building violation and property misuse regulations by amending the Capital of Punjab (Development and Regulation) Act, 1952. New definitions for property categories, structured penalties capped at 20% of property value, and enhanced administrative powers are being introduced. Appeals will now be streamlined to the chief administrator within 30 days.
