Varanasi: VDA's ₹2,866 crore budget focuses on city expansion, infra development

The Varanasi Development Authority (VDA) has approved an ambitious budget of Rs 2,866.20 crore for 2026-27, projecting a significant 448% increase in operational income. This budget prioritizes city expansion, new townships, and infrastructure development, with land sales and compensation being the largest revenue contributors. The VDA aims to accelerate major residential schemes and strengthen urbanisation through planned development.
