Ameesha Patel slams younger actresses using fake PR for superstar tag

Although she has been part of mega blockbusters such as Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Gadar 2, Ameesha Patel’s career has also seen its share of colossal disasters. In a series of strong social media posts, the actor called out actresses for allegedly using “fake PR machinery” to label themselves as superstars despite lacking major box office success.

Ameesha Patel slams actresses for fake PR machinery

Taking to X, she wrote, “Most female actresses who haven’t even achieved one film in their career where even a single film of theirs has done 200 crore-plus at the box office are paying their PR teams to call themselves No. 1 and No. 2? Like really? It’s 2026 and not 2000. Today, 100 crore is nothing (sic).”

Ameesha then turned her attention to actresses who, according to her, brand themselves as “superstars” despite not delivering major box office hits. “Call yourself a superstar only if you have achieved any sort of work that creates history and havoc at the box office. Until then, stop playing PR games to call yourself a superstar. Sorry, but that’s the harsh reality. Loads of female actresses who haven’t even achieved one solo blockbuster in their careers till date are calling themselves stars by doing two average films yearly, and by being on some shooting sets, you don’t become a star. All you become is an actor who is part of projects,” Ameesha posted.

Ameesha went on to highlight her hit films such as Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai and the Gadar franchise, sharing, “Ek nahin par 3 biggest solo blockbusters (not one but three biggest solo blockbusters) as a heroine with highest footfalls in all 3 films I’ve given, and till date, they are the biggest hits of my co-stars as well. But my FAKE PR machinery is weak unlike other actresses.”

Ameesha Patel stranded in UAE

The actress’ jab comes after her 24-hour ordeal when her flight was diverted to Oman amid escalating tensions between the UAE and Iran.

She wrote on social media, “On my way back to Mumbai from New York on Emirates! As we were about to land in Dubai, the airspace closed in the UAE due to fresh missile attacks! We have now been diverted to Muscat and are awaiting further updates!! When will this war end!! Praying (sic).”

She later shared another picture from the airport and wrote, “24 hours from the time we left NYC and still counting hours to reach Mumbai. Endless airport lounge time (sic).” She landed in Mumbai on Tuesday.
