A story that talks to the soul
A still from ‘Masoom’
More than four decades after Masoom (1983) tugged at heartstrings, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur is revisiting the world with Masoom: The New Generation. Reuniting with composer AR Rahman, Shekhar is giving the beloved story a contemporary spin, with Rahman not only composing the music but also stepping in as co-producer.

“The themes of Masoom deserved to be revisited through the lens of today’s world,” said the filmmaker, adding that Rahman’s music “speaks directly to the soul of a story”. The musician appears equally excited about the collaboration, calling the project “exciting and necessary”.

With Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi, Manoj Bajpayee, Nithya Menen, and Kaveri Kapur on board, the film is eyeing a 2026 theatrical release.
London streets are calling
Ahaan Panday, Sharvari and Ali Abbas Zafar
Ahaan Panday and Sharvari have barely begun shooting, but the internet is already invested. The duo is currently filming an untitled action entertainer directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, and a leaked video from the UK schedule has set social media buzzing. The brief clip, which offers the first glimpse of the pair, quickly went viral, sparking curiosity. The film recently wrapped a 27-day Mumbai schedule before heading overseas. For now, the makers are keeping details under wraps, but more London clips will be out soon. Or so we hope!
Bring back Dangal
A still from ‘Dangal’
A Chinese MMA fighter has thrown an unexpected sequel pitch into the ring — and Bollywood fans may approve. After defeating India’s Puja Tomar via first-round submission at the Road to UFC Season 5 event in Macau, Shi Ming revealed that Aamir Khan’s Dangal played a major role in inspiring her combat sports journey. “It’s really important to me that people believe in me,” she said, before adding, “The movie, Dangal, is so touching. I hope someone can make a movie about me like that someday. Dangal 2, let’s go!” Not every day does a post-fight interview turn into a Bollywood casting call, no?

It resonated strongly with Chinese audiences because of its emotional father-daughter story, underdog spirit, and themes of perseverance. The Aamir Khan-starrer became a phenomenon in the country, earning more than Rs 1,295 crore at the box office.
Who will direct ‘Khalnayak 2’?
First look of Sanjay Dutt in ‘Khalnayak Returns’
The search for the next Khalnayak captain seems to be throwing up more twists than the film itself. After Subhash Ghai confirmed he would not direct Khalnayak Returns, reports suggest Sanjay Dutt personally approached Rajkumar Santoshi to take over the reins. According to a source, Sanjay felt Rajkumar “has an understanding of commercial cinema and would be able to do justice” to the film. He reportedly also believed it would be “great to finally join hands with Rajkumar Santoshi” on a project. But it wasn’t meant to be. Rajkumar apparently “politely declined the offer” as he remains busy with Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol, along with other scripts intended for Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan. Looks like the director’s chair is still up for grabs.
Back to childhood
Shahid Kapoor
Looks like Shahid Kapoor’s love affair with bikes began long before he could legally ride one. On Saturday (May 30), the actor took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, sharing an adorable childhood picture (right) of himself striking a rather confident pose beside a motorcycle.

Posting the throwback picture on social media, Shahid quipped, “When you’re a bike lover and you didn’t even know it.” But the nostalgia didn’t stop there. The actor followed it up with another Instagram Story featuring his father, veteran actor Pankaj Kapur, cutting his birthday cake. Wishing him on his special day, Shahid captioned the post, “Happy happy dad!”
