Listen to everyone, do your own thing

Information and personal experiences are the pillars on which Soha Ali Khan has built her wellness podcast, All About Her, which focuses on women’s everyday issues, from work-life balance to hormonal health and ageing. The appearance of Barbara O’Neill, a controversial naturopath and an alternative healthcare promoter, then seems like an unusual choice.

Not to Khan, who reasoned, “My show is to create conversation and information about a range of issues that include wellness. I understand that naturopath and nutritionist Barbara O’Neill is a controversial figure. The idea of having her on the podcast was not an endorsement of her views, but trying to understand why so many people with issues go to her.”

While in the past, Khan has used alternative medicine, she insisted that the idea is to make informed choices from the pool of information provided. “I have struggled with insomnia and my vocal cord cyst, and have got treatment through homoeopathy. But it comes with the disclaimer that please do not do what I did. You must do what is right for you. I want people to know what’s there in the podcast, ask questions, and then make informed healthcare choices in consultation with a medical professional and expert.”
