Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster ‘Dhurandhar’ is headed to Japan, with the dubbed version set to release on July 10.  Ahead of its international debut, the actor recorded a special video message inviting Japanese audiences to watch the film on the big screen. “A warm hello to everyone in Japan. ‘Dhurandhar’ will be releasing in Japan, bringing with it an immersive cinematic experience packed with drama, intensity, scale, emotion, and storytelling at its thrilling best,” he said, adding, “I warmly invite you to come and experience the biggest Indian movie of all time.”

Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh recently chose to stay away from political issues, distancing himself from the ongoing Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over the alleged NEET paper leak and exam irregularities. During an Instagram Live session, the Main Vaapas Aaunga actor responded to fans urging him to join the agitation, saying, “Keep me away from all this! I’m an artiste. I’m not a politician (sic).” His remark has once again sparked discussion over whether celebrities with a massive youth following should speak up on public issues.

An apology

Cinematographer Pratik Shah has publicly apologised over sexual misconduct allegations that surfaced in 2025, saying he is “deeply remorseful” for his actions. In a statement to THR India, he admitted that he had allowed “the increasing attention and growth of my career to cloud my judgement,” adding that he now recognises the privilege and influence he held. “I am truly sorry and ashamed,” he said, revealing that he has undergone weekly therapy, and accepts responsibility for the hurt caused by his actions.

The Indian Idol diamond Jubilee special turned nostalgic as first-season finalists Abhijeet Sawant and Amit Sana reunited on stage 22 years after launching their careers. “Winning the very first season of Indian Idol changed my life in ways I could never have imagined,” said Abhijeet. Amit added, “None of us imagined that 22 years later, we would stand together on this very stage again. It’s a very big thing.” The duo also recreated Abhijeet’s hit Mohabbatein Lutaunga.

Sunny Deol plays a lawyer in ‘Ikka’

Almost three decades after Sunny Deol played a lawyer in Damini (1993) and gave Hindi cinema popular dialogues like Dhai kilo ka haath and Tareekh pe tareekh, director Siddharth P Malhotra promises that the actor’s return to the courtroom drama, Ikka, will usher in a fresh set of punchy lines. Damini saw Sunny fighting a case to get justice for a rape and murder victim, Ikka will see the actor defending a man he had successfully prosecuted in the past. “I’ve got Sunny Deol as a lawyer. And yes, you will get iconic lines. You will get iconic lines that are relevant to 2026-27 with the sensibilities that I would bring to the table as a maker,” the director told PTI in an interview.

Raveena Tandon says comedy has become far more challenging in the social media era, calling it “the ultimate tightrope walk”. “Making people laugh without someone getting offended is probably the ultimate tightrope walk today. It is tough.There was an uninhibited, innocent and totally unapologetic madness to our films. We weren’t overthinking how a joke would look in a 15-second internet clip or whether a line would trigger a social media debate,” she said.

The series returned with a new chapter, bringing back Smriti Irani as Tulsi, on July 29, 2025, reviving the beloved family drama for a new generation
