Bollywood star Raveena Tandon recently faced an unusual situation at the red carpet during the special screening of the movie, Ohh My Dog. A dog suddenly grabbed her outfit after she was done petting him on Thursday night in Mumbai. Nevertheless, Raveena maintained her composure and seemed calm despite the chaotic encounter.
Dog almost bites Raveena Tandon
During the red carpet appearance, Raveena sat down to pet and pose with the dog for the paparazzi present at the venue. After petting the animal, as she got up to pose for the cameras for solo pictures, the dog seemed to have been distracted by the hanging thread and the bell sleeve of her yellow outfit. It abruptly grabbed onto her sleeve while barking furiously.
Despite the unexpected encounter, Raveena did not fret or pull away from the dog aggressively. Instead, she remained calm. She allowed the handlers to regain control. She then returned to the dog and was seen affectionately patting the dog once again.
For the unversed, Raveena on many occasions has openly revealed that she has adopted stray animals.
Raveena Tandon clarifies
Later, while interacting with the paparazzi at the event, Raveena clarified that the dog had not attacked her. According to the actress, the animal got excited after seeing another dog making its way onto the red carpet and thus was reacting to that situation and not harming her.
Similarly, during a conversation with ANI on the sidelines of the red carpet, Tandon said, “I’d like to give a message to the entire country. I’d like to urge our High Courts and our Supreme Court that the greatness of a nation is recognised by the way it treats and has compassion for its animals.”
“The way cruelty is happening nowadays….incidents of abuse include animals being thrown from buildings or set on fire. it’s a horrible situation,” she further added.
The actress, who has always been vocal in raising concerns about animals, also argued that the solution to it lies in the implementation of the Animal Birth Control (ABC) program, which focuses on the sterilisation and vaccination of stray dogs as a humane method of population management. “The ABC program that was there for the dogs should be implemented; otherwise, this situation wouldn’t have happened. It’s not our dogs’ fault. It’s us humans’ fault, as the laws weren’t implemented properly,” she said.
“Support, promote, associate, we do everything together. Because these are films made from the heart. That’s why it’s very necessary,” she concluded.
