The much-anticipated trailer of Drishyam The Conclusion was finally unveiled on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at a grand event in Goa. The cast as well as the makers of the film were seen talking about the film at the event. Ajay Devgn, who has been headlining the franchise, opened up about the upcoming instalment being the last one. Notably, Ajay’s remarks come after the makers of Mohanlal’s Malayalam version confirmed a fourth instalment last month.
Ajay Devgn says there will not be Drishyam 4 in Hindi
While speaking at the trailer launch event, Ajay said, “I think after 2, we didn’t know if this film would be made or not. Because this is not a film where you work out a script and make a sequel. It has to have the twists and turns, and while staying in the same area. And starting the story from where the story ended, taking it forward and making your own entry interesting, I think it’s nearly impossible.”
He further added, “So, after Abhishek (Pathak) came up with a thought, we all liked it. Then he worked with the writers for 2.5 years. He worked very hard, and he came out with a script, which I really think was brilliant. And we all thought that this should be the conclusion, because I don’t think that you should even attempt to go beyond this. Everything, if you leave it on the top, that’s the best thing.”
Further, talking about the director, he added, “So, the way he’s worked the script out, the way the film has, he shaped it up, like he said that he’s grown on Drishyam. You will see in this film that he’s really grown on Drishyam. And not just the writing part; the way he’s executed the film, I think he’s done a fabulous job. So, I think we should leave it there to part 3.”
Notably, this comes after the makers of the Hindi version announced the name of the third instalment as Drishyam The Conclusion.
Mohanlal’s Drishyam 4 confirmed
Meanwhile, the Malayalam version of the Drishyam franchise is set to continue with a fourth instalment. Producer Antony Perumbavoor confirmed Drishyam 4 at the Mazhavil Manorama Awards last month. While confirming the fourth instalment, he assured fans that another chapter in the Mohanlal-starrer is certain as director Jeethu Joseph has been asked to develop the next story, with Georgekutty expected to return.
The news came after the success of Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3, which released on May 21, 2026. The Malayalam film finished its theatrical run with a lifetime worldwide gross of approximately Rs 237.60 crore.
