Singer Mika Singh revisited a hilarious memory involving Jaya Bachchan and Daler Mehndi during a special Navratri episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18. Recalling the shoot of Daler’s song Na Na Na Na Re, Mika shared how the singer played a prank on him by claiming that Jaya had sent food for everyone on set.

Mika remembered being a young musician with long hair, playing the guitar in the background when Amitabh Bachchan arrived. Recalling his first meeting with the superstar, he said, “Bachchan sir arrived and sat next to me; I was holding a guitar and playing it, with my face turned in the other direction, and I still have that photograph today.”
Mika said he was new to the industry and did not know how to interact with people. When food arrived on the set in large quantities, Daler took the opportunity to fool him. “Then, a massive spread of food, enough to feed an entire roadside eatery, arrived on set. Having just come from Punjab, I didn’t really know how to address anyone, so Daler Paaji told me that the food had been sent by Jaya bhabhi, and I happily started eating,” he recalled.
The singer soon discovered that the food had not been sent by Jaya. “Then someone told me that this wasn’t from Jaya-ji, but was actually food from the shoot, and that Daler Paaji had played a prank,” Mika added.
Amitabh, meanwhile, spoke about the bond they share today, saying, “But in truth, the relationship that has developed with them since then is such that they simply let us know, ‘Paaji, I’m coming to see you’; that’s all they say.”

Mika also recounted another prank involving Daler, years after his songs began becoming popular. After obtaining Amitabh’s number, he started sending the actor messages and links to his music, hoping for a response.
“Six months later, I received a reply from them ‘Good’ and I started jumping for joy on my bed; I even shared the news with Daler Paaji,” he said. Daler then arranged a phone conversation, making Mika believe he had spoken to the real Amitabh. Mika later learnt that he had been pranked again and stopped messaging the actor.
At a song premiere attended by Bachchan, Mika said he tried to hide from him. However, the actor spotted him, called him over and asked, “You don’t message?” The anecdotes added humour and nostalgia to the festive episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, which airs Monday to Friday at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment Television.
