Amitabh Bachchan’s Juhu bungalow, Jalsa, was among the locations named in a bomb threat email received by Mumbai authorities. While nothing suspicious was found, the latest threat has once again raised concerns over the megastar’s security amid recent incidents in Mumbai. To note, his security was beefed up last week.

Amitabh Bachchan’s security beefed up
The increased security follows a bomb threat email received by the Mumbai mayor’s office on Friday, October 23. The message reportedly named Bachchan’s Juhu residence, the mayor’s office and Mahalaxmi Racecourse, where singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh is scheduled to perform on November 27. After this, Bachchan’s weekly Sunday ritual of greeting fans outside his Juhu residence, Jalsa, saw heightened police security on October 25.
His other Sunday tradition continued at his Mumbai residence, Jalsa, but with an unusual security arrangement. The Bollywood megastar greeted fans from behind a transparent bulletproof enclosure on November 1, days after reports of a bomb threat targeting his home. Accompanied by son Abhishek Bachchan, the actor waved at admirers as security personnel kept watch over the gathering.
The email naming Amitabh’s home comes at a time when security around Bollywood celebrities is under scrutiny following the recent firing incident in Juhu.
The actor recently shared a health update. Bachchan had informed fans that he needed additional rest as he continued his recovery. In a post on his Tumblr blog, the actor wrote, “Yet more rest needed .. adjusting .. thinking and wondering .. the human body and its uniqueness.”
Tiger Shroff firing probe raises security concerns
On October 18, two men opened fire at Tiger Shroff’s car near a football ground in Juhu. The actor escaped unharmed, while his driver and another person were reportedly injured. Three suspects were subsequently arrested in Kota, Rajasthan, and handed over to the Mumbai Police for further investigation.
