Anushka Sen is having the kind of month most 23-year-olds can barely imagine. An actor and a content creator, she has now released her debut single Chameleon. For someone who has already fronted shows like Prime Video’s Dil Dosti Dilemma and is geared up to make her international acting debut in a Korean action film, this latest chapter feels out of a dream.
Turning to music, she insists, was inevitable. “It’s been in my bones,” she says. Growing up in a Bengali household where her mother is trained in Hindustani classical music, her days were built around different sounds. “When I was young, I was into singing, dancing, mental math, and drawing. My days used to be just as occupied as I am at the moment.”

Between K-pop in her room and Bengali folk drifting from her mother’s playlist, a foundation in music took shape long before she even stepped into a studio. In 2023, the turning point arrived at COP28 in Dubai, where Sen was one of the 15 global artistes performing a climate-themed song. She had only two to three lines to sing, but a new friendship backstage changed everything. She discovered that the song had been produced by two-time Grammy winner Ken Lewis, whose collaborators include Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar. “He thought that I have a lovely voice and it deserves its own single,” she recalls.
A year later, their collaboration Chameleon, a seven-track album, was born. How was it working with Lewis? “He was not only my producer, he was my director,” she says, elaborating, “Sometimes he would ask me to imagine singing to my younger self. Those emotional cues unlocked something. He is so aware of every little thing — from pronunciation to the way vulnerability can be carried through a note.”
