Construction and demolition sites, vehicular emission Trichy’s bane

Trichy secured ninth rank in the National Clean Air Programme, topping the state, but failed to break into the national top five. Lack of regulation at construction sites, absence of recycling plants, and emissions from poorly maintained vehicles are hindering its progress. Despite efforts, dust and debris from construction sites and uncleared silt on national highways contribute to air pollution.
