Former Maharashtra minister Dhananjay Munde on Monday said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) should probe the Beed coaching class sexual harassment case.
Talking to media in Beed, Dhananjay Munde alleged that one of the two persons arrested in the case had links with NCP (SP) MLA Sandip Kshirsagar. The latter denied the allegations, as per PTI.
The 17-year-old victim was attending a renowned private coaching class in Beed for her academics. In July 2024, one of the teachers from the institute called her to his room after the class ended. After calling her inside the room, he sexually assaulted her.
The 17-year-old student reported this incident to another senior teacher about this and sought his help. However, instead of stopping his fellow colleague, the senior teacher of the institute himself sexually assaulted the student in his room. This horrific act of inhumanity by both the accused continued till May 2025, starting from July 2024.
However, the victim, after being molested for several months, finally filed a complaint against both the accused. Both the teachers were later arrested and remanded to police custody till July 1.
As per the victim’s complaint, the two teachers who have been accused of sexually molesting the girl used to call her to the office of the coaching centre. After calling the girl to the office, they forced her to strip and would then indulge in obscene acts with her.
On Monday, Dhananjay Munde met the victim`s family. He claimed that on the day the offence was registered, the accused was with Kshirsagar till late at night.
“Their connection should be investigated,” said Munde, who resigned from the state cabinet in March, days after his close aide Walmik Karad was named as the mastermind in the Beed sarpanch murder case.
Munde further said, “As many as 5,000 students study in the coaching classes here. Many were harassed so much that they left the classes because of these two teachers and the one who gave them `political refuge`, as per PTI.
