Does Saiyaara star Aneet Padda hail from a film family? Here`s what we know

Actress Aneet Padda has grabbed headlines with her performance in the recently released film Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri. Paired opposite debutant Ahaan Panday, their love story has resonated with the audience. While everyone is well aware of Ahaan’s film lineage (his cousin is Ananya Panday and uncle is Chunky Panday), there is less information available about Aneet. However, a recent Reddit post claims that Padda has roots in the film industry.

Is Aneet a nepo kid?

A viral Reddit post claimed that Aneet Padda was “already born with connections.”

The post alleged that Aneet has strong ties to the film industry, identifying her parents as Nitya Mehra and Karan Kapadia. Nitya was the director of the Bollywood film Baar Baar Dekho starring Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra. Nitya and Karan also co-created the Amazon Prime Video series Big Girls Don’t Cry, in which Aneet played one of the lead roles.

However, there is no truth to this claim. Nitya Mehra and Karan Kapadia are not Aneet Padda’s biological parents. The confusion likely stems from the fact that Aneet had once affectionately referred to them as her “Bombay Parents”, crediting them for their support during the making of Big Girls Don’t Cry. Aneet looks up to Nitya and Karan as her mentors, as the show marked her first major break in the industry.

About Aneet Padda

Born on October 14, 2002, there is limited public information available about Aneet’s family. She comes from a middle-class household in Amritsar, and it is reported that her mother supported her decision to pursue acting.

Aneet studied at Spring Dale Senior School in Amritsar and began her journey into showbiz as a teenager. During her time at Jesus and Mary College, Delhi, she began modelling and appearing in ad films.

Before making her movie debut with Saiyaara, Aneet featured in several advertisements. She earned her role in the YRF film through rigorous auditions, reportedly beating hundreds of other hopefuls for the part.

So, no — Aneet Padda is not a nepo kid.

Aneet`s heartfelt note for Mohit Suri

Aneet took to Instagram, where she shared a picture of her hugging Mohit. She then went on to write how she bagged the film, which marks the debut of Ananya Panday’s cousin Ahaan Panday.

She wrote, “I met a man named @mohitsuri. He sees love the way few do, understands pain in a way that feels honest and true. He’s felt it like anyone else, I guess, but chose to give it meaning instead. To really look at it, hold it close, and see where it led.”

“Images and music alone wouldn’t do. He needed them breathing together to make something true. So he called the cameraman @vikzss , who captured the sight, a woman chasing lost magic and light @sumanaghoshs , a man who believed @s_nk_lp and wrote it with care, & the mentor, the man who gives dreams a chance #AdityaChopra, always there,” Aneet added.

Aneet said that they built a “team, all the cast and crew, stayed up through nights, made something new.”

“The odds were against them, but they chose the fight because they had a story that needed life. Even if it failed, they knew they’d have tried, because something with soul should never be denied. Then came a woman with a searching mind @shanoosharmarahihai , a little magic here, a little hope there until she found two wanderers who still believed, silly, new, scared, and naïve.”

“I’m lucky to have seen it up close and near. Ahaan and I are lucky to be here lucky to have this man who let us in, who answered so many of our whens and whys within. You’re a beautiful human being, Mohit Suri, leaving a mark with every song.”

“Thank you for the vision that’s carried so strong. Thank you for the music, for letting us see. Thank you for sharing your heart with the world, and with me.”
