Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s health recently became a major headline after a social media post claimed that the renowned filmmaker was hospitalised on the eve of his birthday due to a sudden heart attack. However, Bhansali’s team has now issued a strong statement urging media outlets and the public not to circulate unverified news.

According to a post by Mamaraazzi, Bhansali was allegedly rushed to a hospital in Mumbai after suffering a heart attack on his 63rd birthday. The report suggested that what was meant to be a celebratory occasion quickly turned into a moment of concern, with doctors admitting him for urgent medical care and closely monitoring his condition.

The incident was said to have taken place on February 25, a date typically marked by warm birthday wishes from colleagues, collaborators, and admirers who have long appreciated his artistic vision and immense contribution to Indian cinema. The rumour spread rapidly online, causing worry among fans and members of the film fraternity.

Truth behind the news

However, Bhansali’s team has firmly dismissed these claims. In an official statement, they clarified, “Reports about SLB being hospitalised are completely false and baseless. There is no truth to them. We request you to kindly refrain from carrying any such stories, as they have no verified source.”

On his birthday eve, Bhansali was reportedly busy working on his upcoming project Love & War, a highly anticipated romantic drama starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal. Known for his dedication to cinema, Bhansali has previously shared that work gives him purpose, once remarking that when he is workless, he feels worthless, a reflection of how deeply filmmaking defines him.
