Protective bond on set

Actor Fatima Sana Shaikh recently opened up about living with epilepsy, a condition that causes sudden seizures. Her Gustaakh Ishq co-star Vijay Varma recalled witnessing her seizure on set, saying he felt “helpless” despite her having briefed the team with “guidelines” beforehand. He told Mashable India, “I felt so vulnerable. We cleared a bed, made her lie down and gave her space.” Fatima explained that a seizure leads to a “proper wipe-out,” often misunderstood due to limited awareness. Vijay then, added that the incident created a “protective bond” between them.

‘Need humane stories’

Sanjay Mishra

Acclaimed actor Sanjay Mishra has called for more films centred on “life and relationships” rather than only “larger-than-life” spectacles. Speaking at the ongoing International Film Festival of India  (IFFI), where his film Vadh 2 held its première, Mishra said producers today are actively seeking strong content. “We need more humane stories to be made in India,” he told PTI, noting that while grand films dominate, relatable narratives deserve equal space. The actor also expressed gratitude for producers who have supported his niche projects, citing titles such as Aankhon Dekhi (2013), Kadvi Hawa (2017), Kaamyaab (2018), and Vadh (2022).
