IRCTC announces weekly rail tour packages with confirmed train tickets

The Government of India enterprise Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) on Monday announced a wide range of weekly Rail Tour Packages with confirmed train tickets to some of the country’s most sought-after destinations, as per the statement issued by the IRCTC West Zone.

IRCTC, established in 1999, has been instrumental in redefining the rail tourism landscape in India over the past 25 years. By leveraging the vast railway network and combining it with curated tour services, the government entity has emerged as a pioneer in professional, budget-friendly, and well-organised tourism.

Celebrating 25 years since its establishment in 1999, IRCTC is now offering budget-friendly, professional, and well-structured tour experiences.

The IRCTC West Zone (Mumbai) is now offering over 20 tour packages originating from Mumbai, connecting tourists to iconic pilgrimages and leisure destinations such as Shimla–Manali, Vaishnodevi, Indore, Ujjain, Hyderabad, Dwarka, Somnath, Shirdi, Kolhapur, Kevadia, Omkareshwar, Gwalior, Khajuraho, and Tirupati, among others.

The tour package offered by IRCTC will savour various tourist destinations differentiated amid different categories:

  • Spiritual Destinations: Vaishnodevi, Tirupati Balaji, Mahakaleshwar, Dwarkadhish Temple, Somnath, Omkareshwar, Sai Baba Temple, Mahalaxmi Temple, and others.
  • Leisure and Heritage: Kufri, Mall Road (Shimla), Ajanta–Ellora Caves, Khajuraho Temples, Rajwada Palace, Jai Vilas Palace, and more.

Each package offered by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation will cover 

  1. Confirmed train tickets in Sleeper, 3AC, or 2AC categories
  2.  Accommodation in deluxe hotels
  3. AC vehicles for local transfers and sightseeing across destinations
  4. Meals as per itinerary
  5. Travel insurance

As per the statement, the passengers can board the train from Mumbai and also from select en-route stations as per the itinerary.

Addressing more about the initiative started by IRCTC, the Group General Manager, IRCTC West Zone, Gaurav Jha said, “Our Rail Tour Packages are designed to offer seamless and value-for-money travel experiences. With prices starting at just Rs 8,599 per person (twin sharing), these tours are ideal for pilgrims, families, and casual travellers alike. Tour departures are available on various days of the week, and bookings can be made up to 5 days prior to travel, offering great flexibility for last-minute planners.”

Furthermore, a statement issued by the IRCTC West Zone, Mumbai, also informed that booking for these tour packages can be done online through IRCTC’s official website and authorised IRCTC travel agents. Whereas, offline booking for the tour packages can be done at the IRCTC office located on the 3rd Floor, Forbes Building, Charanjit Rai Marg, Fort, CSMT, Mumbai– 400001.
