After his last outing as a cop in Deva, Shahid Kapoor is gearing up for his next as he reunites with filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj on tentatively titled Arjun Ustara. What`s more interesting is that the film is set for a major box office clash with some of the biggest anticipated films on December 5. The action film is set to lock horns with Ranveer Singh`s Dhurandhar and Prabhas’ The RajaSaab. Earlier, some reports claimed that the film could be delayed to avert the clash; however, now sources confirmed that the makers are not keen on changing the dates and will release as scheduled.
Shahid Kapoor`s Arjun Ustara is not delayed
Bollywood Hungama reports that the makers of Shahid’s film were the first to lock the December 5 release date for the film. The shoot is progressing steadily, and the film is also shaping up well so far. Amid the developments, producer Sajid Nadiadwala is confident in the project and sees no reason to give away the slot he initially reserved.
An industry insider further shared, “The fact that Sajid Nadiadwala has decided not to move from the December 5 date shows his extreme confidence in his product.”
If the makers of the Shahid Kapoor-starrer decide to go ahead with December 5, 2025, the audiences can expect a huge clash at the box office. Ranveer Singh`s much-anticipated film Dhurandhar, helmed by Aditya Dhar, is also releasing on the same day. The makers released the first look teaser recently on Ranveer`s birthday, July 6th, which received an overwhelming response from the audience, further heightening the buzz around the action thriller. On the other hand, Pabhas` romantic comedy The RajaSaab has also been creating buzz as the actor steps into a new genre for the first time.
About Arjun Ustara
Talking about the film, Shahid had earlier told IANS that although the film, set in the 1990s, is a love story, it is full of action and gangsters. He said, “It`s being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, who is somebody I have known for a very long time. And I`m happy to be working with him. It`s directed by Vishal Sir. Vishal Bhardwaj, whom I`ve done so many films with.”
The film marks the fourth collaboration of Shahid with Vishal after Haider, Kaminey and Rangoon. Along with Shahid, the film also stars Triptii Dimri, Disha Patani, Nana Patekar, and Randeep Hooda. Notably, the makers are yet to officially announce the name of the film. A report in Pinkvilla earlier claimed that the film is no more Arjun Ustara, but it has been titled as Romeo. However, no official confirmation has arrived from the makers.
