Sunjay Kapur, MD of Sona Comstar and ex-husband of Karisma Kapoor passed away in June due to cardiac arrest. A month after his demise, his mother Rani Kapur has demanded a probe as she has found something suspicious. She recently claimed that there is even a dispute going on for the inheritance of his Rs 30,000 crore wealth. Amid this, rumours came that Karisma Kapoor is demanding her share of the property. A source close to her has now rubbished the claims.
Karisma Kapoor denies demanding share in Sunjay’s property
Amid recent discussions surrounding the division of Sunjay Kapur’s assets, sources close to the family have firmly stated that Karisma is in no way connected to any property, strongly refuting and rubbishing all on-going speculations. “She is not involved in any inheritance or property-related matters in anyway. The children are the rightful heir’s and will receive what is due to them. Karisma`s focus right now is only the well-being of her children”.
As per an earlier report of India.com, Sunjay Kapur’s mother, Rani Kapur, had claimed that she holds a majority stake in the Sona Group and is the only heir to the family’s estate. She further added that several attempts are being made to take away the inheritance after her son’s demise. Rani also claimed that she was allegedly forced to sign certain documents right after Sunjay’s demise when she was mourning his loss.
In a letter she wrote, “I’ve been informed that certain people are representing themselves as being the largest shareholders of the Company since they claim to represent the interest of the family in the Company. I am fully convinced that the documents which were executed by me under coercion and duress, post the demise of my son, at a time of mental and emotional vulnerability, are being misused.”
