NGT cracks whip on erring stone crushers to shield Shivalik Hills in Ropar

The National Green Tribunal has ordered the Punjab Pollution Control Board to strictly enforce environmental norms for stone crushers in Ropar district. Thirteen units found violating regulations and engaging in illegal mining have faced closure, environmental compensation, and criminal complaints. The board must now inspect remaining units and verify raw material sources within three months.
