Nitesh Tiwari gets emotional as Ramayana teaser unveils Ranbir Kapoor as Rama

As fans and media finished watching the much-hyped ‘Rama’ glimpse from Ramayana, the captain of the ship, a visibly overwhelmed Nitesh Tiwari addressed the crowd, and opened up about the last seven years that he has spent making the epic.

In the morning, the over two-minute long teaser that introduced Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram was screened at a theatre in South Mumbai. The makers not only invited media but also fans, who queued up in large numbers. Reacting to the applause that followed the screening, Tiwari said, “Is moment tak pohochne mei mujhe personally saat saal lag chuke hain. Filmmaking is a very speculative as well as a lonely process. Every moment of these seven years I have imagined this moment as to what the reaction would be when it finally comes out. And today seeing your reaction I feel those seven years were worth it,” he said, even as his voice broke.

The director also said, “A lot of hard work of a lot of people has gone for the film to reach here. And I hope we will get your love in the same proportion,” as crowd erupted in another round of applause. 

All about Ramayana

Ramayana, co-produced by Namit Malhotra, also stars Sai Pallavi, Yash, Ravi Dubey and Sunny Deol in the primary roles. Apart from glimpses of Sai Pallavi, Yash and Dubey, the teaser also showed veteran actor Arun Govil, who played Lord Ram in the classic Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana. Govil plays Ram’s father Dasharath in the new Ramayana. The part 1 of the film is slated to release this Diwali.

Talking about the trailer, Rama aka Ranbir Kapoor`s first look gets unveiled. A hero who puts duty before desires. and abandons authority when it is appropriate to do so. Even in the face of banishment, grief, and injustice, Rama, revered as Maryada Purushottama, “the highest ideal of human conduct,” exemplifies dignity, compassion, and moral clarity.

Ranbir Kapoor shared his views on playing Lord Rama, “I don’t think I’m here to represent Rama. I’m here to learn from him. There is a simplicity and purity to him that is very rare, and trying to understand and imbibe that has been a deeply humbling experience.”
