Authorities in Kendrapada seized 50 trucks and three digging vehicles in a crackdown on illegal sand mining at Kilipal Ghat. The lessee was found to be operating far beyond sanctioned limits, lifting over ten times the authorized sand volume daily. This illegal extraction is estimated to cause a significant financial loss to the state exchequer.
