In a major development for one of the most rapidly growing cities of Maharashtra, Pimpri-Chinchwad, the Maharashtra state cabinet has approved the establishment of a District and Additional Sessions Court, along with a Senior Civil Court, within the municipal limits. This move aims to ensure that Pimpri-Chinchwad remains on track as a city with a rapid pace of development.
This information on approving the establishment of various lower courts in Pimpri-Chinchwad was shared by the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar. While posting on his X account, Ajit Pawar said, “A historic and reassuring decision by the state cabinet for Pimpri-Chinchwad residents…! The state cabinet has today approved the establishment of a District and Additional Sessions Court as well as a Senior Civil Court in Pimpri-Chinchwad.”

Expressing his happiness about Pimpri-Chinchwad getting the facilities of the District and Additional Sessions Court, along with a Senior Civil Court, Pawar said that this decision by the Maharashtra Government is historic and could change the roadmap of Pimpri-Chinchwad.
Posting further on his social media handle X, he said, “This decision, which is reassuring and historic for Pimpri-Chinchwad residents, has taken concrete shape today, which is a matter of great satisfaction. I wholeheartedly thank the Honourable Chief Minister and the entire cabinet.”
Highlighting the urgent need and importance of establishing a District Court and a Senior Civil Court in PCMC, Ajit Pawar added that the people of PCMC will benefit greatly. Noting that Pimpri-Chinchwad residents will no longer have to travel to Pune to seek justice, the establishment of courts is indeed a significant initiative.
Concluding his post on social media platform X, Ajit Pawar stated, “A rapidly developing municipal corporation like Pimpri-Chinchwad urgently needed an independent District and Sessions Court. I am delighted that citizens will now receive justice from local courts without having to go to Pune.”
Considering that Pimpri-Chinchwad remains a key industrial and residential hub adjoining Pune, the demand for necessary government establishments has always existed. Independent judicial infrastructure to cater to its growing population and caseload is something that will surely impact the city’s overall dynamics.
