Punjab’s new building rules significantly ease rainwater harvesting requirements for residential properties, raising the threshold to 250 sqm. However, commercial and industrial sectors maintain a 100 sqm limit to address water depletion. Additionally, on-site composting of organic waste is now mandatory for all plots of 500 sqm and above, promoting a ‘Zero Waste’ vision.
