Ramayana first glimpse: Ranbir Kapoor, Yash`s look unveiled

Nitesh Tiwari`s directorial Ramayana is one of the most-awaited films from the Indian film industry. There has been immense hype around the film that has been backed by Namita Malhotra of Prime Focus and KGF fame actor Yash. Now, the makers have dropped the first glimpse into the ambitious world of Ramayana.

The first glimpse or the introduction video into the world of Ramayana features stellar visuals, indicating top-notch world-class VFX. The video introduces members of the film, including music composers Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman. The video also gives us a quick glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Yash as Ravana.

The introduction video, which looks like world-class VFX, has largely left the audience impressed, who were skeptical of the film after Om Raut`s Adipurush proved to be a letdown. 

Ramayana: Part 1 shoot wrapped 

The team recently completed the shoot of Ramayana: Part 1. A video of the cast wrapping up the shoot and celebrating with a cake-cutting went viral on social media. Ranbir Kapoor, who plays the role of Ram in the film, was seen giving a speech to the crew as they ended the principal shoot of the ambitious Part 1. In a heartwarming moment, he was also seen hugging actor Ravi Dubey, who plays Lakshman in the film.

Apart from Ranbir, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, the film directed by Nitesh Tiwari also boasts of an interesting ensemble cast. Sunny Deol will be seen as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey plays Laxman, Lara Dutta takes on the role of Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh will be seen as Surpanakha, and Kajal Aggarwal plays Mandodari.

The makers are going all out with the scale of the film, promising to give audiences a never-seen-before experience of the Ramayana on the big screen. Reportedly, the film is being made on a massive budget of Rs 835 crores. The project is backed by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.

The film will be released in two parts. The first part will be released on Diwali 2026 while the second part is scheduled to be released for Diwali 2027. Ranbir Kapoor, in an earlier interview, had shared that shooting for part 1 has already been completed. According to reports, part 1 ends with the Sita haran episode.
