Shefali Jariwala`s friend recalls what happened moments before her death

Shefali Jariwala`s sudden demise at the age of 42 left all her admirers in shock. She passed away on the night of June 27, even before her husband Parag Tyagi could take her to the hospital. Days after her demise, Shefali`s close friend Pooja Ghai spoke about her last moments.

Shefali`s friend recalls her last moments

Talking to journalist Vickey Lalwani, Pooja Ghai shared that there was a Satyanarayan Puja on Friday at Shefali and Parag`s home. “But what I have understood from the family, from Parag, is that there was a beautiful Satyanarayan ki puja. In fact, the next day when we were allowed to enter the home to bring Shefali for the last rites, I realised that the whole house was decorated for the puja. So there was Satyanarayan ki puja at home and they did a beautiful puja setup.”

Pooja said that Shefali had dinner and then asked Parag to take their dog for a walk. “And the moment he went down, apparently he was called. The helper at home called him and said, ‘Didi is not feeling well.’ So she told him, ‘Could you just come up, take care of me?’ The dog is really old. And he told the helper, ‘I’ve just come down for a walk, so why don’t you come down, take him for a walk and I’ll come up.’”

`She had pulse but eyes were closed`

She further shared, “He was waiting near the lift, the helper came down, he handed over the dog, and when he went up, Parag said that she still had a pulse. But her eyes were not opening, and she just had dead weight in her body. So he immediately must have realised that something was definitely wrong. And he took her to the hospital… before she was brought in at Bellevue, she was already no more.”

“On that day, she did take the drip, the vitamin C. But like I said, it’s a very normal thing to take vitamin C. I mean, we all take vitamin C, right? I think post-COVID people have just started taking vitamin C as regularly as possible. And vitamin C is something I take as well. So it’s a very normal thing,” she said.

Shefali was consuming anti-ageing injections

Reportedly, the police investigation revealed that Shefali had been consuming anti-ageing medicines, including glutathione and vitamin infusions, for the last seven to eight years. Reports also stated that Shefali was fasting on the day of her demise but took the injections.

Speaking about the same, Shefali`s friend Pooja said taking such injections was common practice. “It’s so common. In fact, if you walk down the streets here in Dubai, you see multiple vitamin C drips at regular clinics and salons. She was in a profession where she had to be her best, and she was her best. She looked the best,” Pooja said.
