Varanasi Development Authority’s efforts to encourage planned colony development have led to the sanctioning of over 474 layouts. However, a significant concern has emerged as 73 group housing projects, completed before 2020 and occupied by residents, have failed to obtain completion certificates, raising safety and legal uncertainties.
