Watch: Dhurandhar’s pirated copies openly sold in Karachi for Rs 16

Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar wreaked havoc in 2025 by becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film. With its slick characters, high-octane action, and banger soundtrack, the film proved to be a massive success. The film highlights the crime and politics of Lyari town in Pakistan. Due to its narrative, it was banned in several countries. However, a YouTuber has now claimed that pirated copies of the film are being sold at a cheap rate in Pakistan.

Dhurandhar’s pirated copy in Pakistan

A New Zealand-based YouTuber, Karl Rock, has alleged that pirated copies of Ranveer Singh’s film Dhurandhar are being sold openly in Pakistan for as little as PKR 50 (around Rs 16). In his latest video, reportedly shot at a popular marketplace in Karachi, Karl is seen highlighting DVDs of several films, including Dhurandhar, being sold despite the official ban on Indian films in the country. He also stated in the video that Ranveer is Sindhi and that his grandparents came to India from Pakistan during Partition.

For those unversed, Dhurandhar was banned in Pakistan and in some Gulf countries due to its portrayal of events linked to terrorism and internal conflicts involving Pakistan, including references to Lyari and historical incidents. Despite the ban, the thriller was illegally downloaded more than 2 million times in Pakistan within 12 days of its release.
