Janhvi Kapoor has strongly reacted to the Kalyan clinic assault case that has been circulating on the internet. Janhvi reshared the video, which shows a man brutally assaulting a female, and said the man should be in jail for thrashing the female receptionist. For those unversed, a video of the incident has gone viral wherein the man, identified as Gopal Jha, is seen kicking and punching the receptionist, and later dragging her by the hair, while repeatedly assaulting her at Shree Bal Chikitsalaya, a paediatrics hospital, located in Kalyan East on July 21.

Janhvi reacted to the video by resharing the video on her Instagram story and writing a long note condemning the act. She wrote, “This man needs to be in jail. Why does anyone think this behaviour is ok? What makes him think he can raise his hand at someone like this? What kind of upbringing convinces you to go through with these actions without any remorse, guilt or sense of humanity?”
“How do you live with yourself after knowing this is how your brain operates? What a shame. And shame on us for not punishing and condoning such behaviour more aggressively. Nothing excuses this,” the Param Sundari actress added.
What exactly happened?
A video of the incident from Kalyan East has gone viral on social media, wherein a man, identified as Gokul Jha, is seen running towards the 25-year-old receptionist and kicking her at a private hospital. The others present at the scene tried pulling him away; however, he continued to drag and pull the woman by her hair, and thrashing her onto the ground. A police official stated that based on the woman`s complaint, an FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The FIR lists charges of assault, using obscene language, and outraging the modesty of a woman.

Later, on Wednesday, July 23, another video surfaced on social media showing that the receptionist first slapped a woman before charging at Gopal Jha. It is being said that the woman she slapped is Jha`s sister-in-law. According to reports, the receptionist sustained serious injuries on her neck, legs, and chest. There are concerns that she may suffer from partial paralysis due to the extent of the trauma. She is reportedly being treated at Janaki Hospital in Kalyan.
