Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh recently grabbed headlines when he briefly halted his performance during the Aura 2026 concert in Calgary, Canada on noticing some audience members waving pro-Khalistan flags. In the videos which surfaced online, he seemingly asked his security team to remove the people from the show. Additionally, during the show, Dosanjh also responded to criticism from sections of the Punjabi community as well as the controversy surrounding his appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati in 2025.
Diljit Dosanjh clarifies the pro-Khalistan flag row
Now, days after the incident, Diljit opened up about the controversy, stating that he would not tolerate anyone harassing his fans. The singer added that the issue was not about the banner or flag, but the intention of the people who carried out the act.

Diljit took to his Instagram story to share his take in Punjabi, writing, “If someone brings a banner or flag, it usually means they want to show they`ve come from a certain place and support us. But if you’re standing outside with the same banner abusing my fans, and then trying to do the same thing inside the venue too, I’m not going to tolerate this.”
He further clarified that he had instructed security to throw out anyone who attempted to disrupt the event, adding that he had not said anything against any banner or flag. He also urged people not to spread a false narrative, adding that he had been avoiding speaking about the issue since last year, but would no longer remain silent.
Diljit Dosanjh`s upcoming films
Dosanjh was last seen in Border 2, which was released in January 2026. The actor and singer is now gearing up for the upcoming romantic drama Main Vaapas Aaunga, which is directed by Imtiaz Ali. The much-anticipated film also features Sharvari, Vedang Raina and Naseeruddin Shah in key roles. The film is set to release in theatres on June 12, 2026. Notably, Kangana Ranaut`s Bharat Bhhagya Vidhaata also releases on the same day, marking a box office clash.
Currently, he is busy with his Aura World Tour 2026, which has turned out to be a record-breaking North American tour running from April to June 2026.
