Katrina Kaif on self-worth

On October 8, Katrina was seen at an event in London to celebrate one year of her beauty brand Kay Beauty in the UK. While interacting with the influencers at the event, Katrina Kaif spoke about the importance of not letting online narratives shape one’s sense of self-worth, especially in an age where everyone has an opinion to share.

Katrina said, “I think we really need to be careful of letting the narrative on social media affect our self-worth and inner value because there are so many opinions out there. If you start catering to all of them, it really hampers your ability to make choices for yourself.”

Further speaking about how criticism can also influence one’spersonal choices, Katrina highlighted how constantly responding to public opinion can make it harder to move ahead. She shared that allowing every comment or criticism to affect her decisions could have stopped her from making progress in life. She added, “There are times when the world is going to celebrate you, and other times you have to really be your own biggest cheerleader.”

She also emphasised the importance of embracing oneself through different stages of life, admitting that confidence and self-image can fluctuate. The actress said that while there are days when people feel their best, there are also times when they struggle with how they see themselves. Stressing on the need to accept oneself in the present, she highlighted how personal growth is a continuous journey.

Katrina Kaif faces trolling

Katrina’s remarks came a month after Katrina was trolled by a section of users on social media. The trolling came after she arrived at the Ambani family’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations with husband Vicky Kaushal. The actor, who embraced motherhood last year, was subjected to remarks about her postpartum appearance.

The criticism sparked a debate about the scrutiny women face over their bodies, especially after childbirth, and the unrealistic expectations placed on celebrities. Following the backlash, several stars, including Salman Khan, came out in support of Katrina.
