Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday became household names following the blockbuster success of Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara last year. The actors, who played Vaani and Krish in the romantic drama, are now set to reunite with the filmmaker for an upcoming project. Ahead of their next collaboration, Padda has opened up about her equation with Panday, describing him as a supportive co-star and her best friend.
Aneet Padda praises Ahaan Panday
Speaking to Variety India, the actor praised Panday’s commitment to their scenes, particularly moments that required emotional intensity. “Ahaan is one of the most giving actors. If it was an emotional scene and he was supposed to be crying, he would cry every time, even when the camera was on me, just to show, ‘This is how it’s going to be happening on the other side.’ He’d give me all the tools to be able to do my best. He is the most giving actor,” she said.
Beyond his approach to acting, Padda also spoke about the lighter side of their friendship. “He’s the funniest guy in the world. I’ve never known anyone who makes me laugh as much as Ahaan does,” she said.
The actor is equally excited about sharing the screen with Panday again. According to Padda, the familiarity between her, Panday and Suri will help them understand each other’s creative instincts better.
“Ahaan is my best friend, so it’ll be fun. That’s all that I’m thinking. With him and Mohit Sir, it’s the same team and we’re sort of in tune emotionally and artistically. That sense of familiarity is only going to help, and it’s only going to be better for all of us,” she said. She added that the trio would enjoy the shoot more while developing a stronger understanding of each other’s vision for the film.

Padda also credited Suri for creating an environment where the young actors could explore their characters without feeling restricted. She recalled how the filmmaker chose to adapt to their creative instincts rather than impose his own approach. “It was very freeing that Mohit Sir, as a director, told us, ‘I have to go into your world instead of bringing you guys to mine,’” she said, adding that he allowed them to experiment and never doubted their abilities.
The actor said Suri’s confidence in his cast made a significant difference to their performances. “When you get that kind of trust from your director, it changes the game altogether,” she said.
As the trio prepares to collaborate again, Padda hopes to carry forward the same trust, understanding and creative freedom that shaped Saiyaara. Expressing her admiration for the filmmaker, she said, “I love Mohit Sir so much. He’s actually the best.” Their upcoming reunion with Suri is reportedly an unconventional love story, but further details about the untitled project are awaited.
