About AR Ameen
AR Ameen is the son of AR Rahman and Saira Banu, born on January 6, 2003. He started singing at a young age under his father’s guidance and made his debut as a child singer in 2015 with the song Maula Wa Sallim in Mani Ratnam’s film O Kadhal Kanmani. Later, he also worked on projects like 2.0 and independent singles. He made his song production debut in 2019 with Sago.
Ameen made his Bollywood singing debut earlier this year with Bheegi Bheegi alongside Jasleen Royal, featuring actors Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur. He is also involved with the independent music platform Rooh Records, a new joint venture between AR Rahman, AR Ameen and Warner Music India.
While speaking to Bollywood Bubble earlier this year, Ameen opened up about the pressure of being AR Rahman’s son, saying, “I’m starting with my own plant, and I have a long way to go. I have a lot of hard work to do. My dad has worked with so many composers; he’s done so many jingles and live shows. He has done a lot of work to be where he is right now, and obviously, God’s blessings. So I have a lot of work to do, and I want to come up with my own path, and I don’t want to compare or anything.”
