Arjun Rampal has candidly reflected on one of the most difficult periods of his life. He recalled feeling lonely while dealing with his separation from Mehr Jesia and his mother`s illness and eventual death. He also revealed how partner Gabriella Demetriades became a source of strength during those challenging years.
Arjun Rampal on the darkest phase of his life
While speaking to Cancelled to Crown, Arjun Rampal reflected on the “loneliest and darkest phase” of his life. He said, “I think the loneliest I have ever felt is when I was not connected with myself the way I am today. My marriage was not working out, and it’s sad because I think love is not constant.”
Rampal added, “I think that was maybe the darkest phase of my life because at that point in time, it was exactly the time my mum had cancer and I was losing her. I was losing everybody who was close to me. I had lost my father three years before that. I was losing friends. I was losing everything that I had worked so hard to get.”
Arjun Rampal was earlier married to former supermodel Mehr Jesia. The two tied the knot in 1998 and remained together for two decades before announcing their separation in 2018. Together, they have two daughters, Mahikaa and Myra.
Arjun then met model-designer Gabriella Demetriades in 2018 through mutual friends and eventually started dating. They have been rock-solid since then, welcoming their first son, Arik, in 2019 and Ariv in 2023. Speaking of how Gabriella became his anchor during difficult times, the actor said, “I was very lucky because I got somebody like Gabriella into my life, who I think was a very strong anchor and was also coming from a space of maybe a lot of darkness as well.”
