The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has filed a writ petition in the Karnataka high court seeking clarity on the applicability of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, to its residential layouts. BDA contends it is not a “promoter” under the Act and argues against retrospective application to projects notified before May 1, 2017.
