Actor and professional wrestler Saurav Gurjar, known for his roles in Brahmastra and the television series Mahabharat, has been booked following a complaint by a woman who alleged that he harassed her and continued a relationship after promising to marry her. The case was registered by Gachibowli police in Hyderabad, with Gurjar subsequently taken into custody and remanded to judicial custody, according to India Today report.

The woman, identified as a 29-year-old from Nanakramguda, allegedly met Gurjar through Instagram in 2021. According to her complaint, the two later became close through WhatsApp and met in person for the first time on December 25, 2021. She alleged that Gurjar assured her that he would marry her and provide her with rights similar to those of a wife.
The complainant further alleged that the relationship continued for several years, with the two living together at different locations in the US and India. She claimed Gurjar persuaded her to leave her job in the US after assuring her that they would start a business together. She alleged that the situation subsequently affected her career and caused her financial and emotional distress.
According to the complaint, whenever she questioned Gurjar about marriage, he allegedly blocked her phone number and social media accounts and distanced himself from her. She claimed that Gurjar stayed with her from October 2025 until March 2026. After they continued living together in Hyderabad, she alleged that he suddenly left without informing her.
Following the complaint, Gachibowli police registered a case on August 15 under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with sexual intercourse by employing deceitful means, including a promise to marry made without intention of fulfilling it. Police began investigating the allegations and reportedly issued a Look Out Circular against Gurjar.
According to police, Gurjar was intercepted by immigration officials at Mumbai airport on September 17 after arriving from West Asia. He was subsequently brought to Hyderabad and produced before a magistrate. The court remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody, as reported by The Times of India.
On the work front
Gurjar began his television career with Mahabharat, where he played Bhim. He later portrayed characters including Ravan and Bali in Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman. He made his Bollywood debut with Brahmastra, and returned to television in 2025 with Shiv Shakti: Tap Tyaag Tandav.
The investigation into the allegations is ongoing. The claims made in the complaint have not been established in court.
