The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) is conducting a comprehensive survey of 66 slums to assess development levels. Slums meeting certain criteria will be denotified, while others, like Velampeta and Indira Nagar, will undergo redevelopment through a public-private partnership. This initiative aims to transform the city into a slum-free zone with new high-rise residential apartments.
