The team of Hanuman Ansh, the devotional biopic on Neem Karoli Baba, seems to be facing disagreements. Amid the internal disputes, director Vishal Chaturvedi and producer Namrata G Singh have issued an official statement clarifying the speculations surrounding the film’s rights, publicity and distribution arrangements amid the film’s box office success.
Hanuman Ansh makers issue statement
The makers released a statement on Monday through Swambhu Media Network, wherein Namrata and Vishal identified themselves as the Executive Directors. Additionally, they also stated that they were the authorised representatives for the film’s public relations, marketing, awards and partnerships. The statement also warned against individuals who claim to represent the film or independently handle its rights.
The note read, “Hanuman Ansh has one authorised channel.” It further clarified that all rights related to the film, including theatrical, streaming, broadcast, music, gaming and licensing, are jointly held and must be dealt with according to agreements signed between the producers.
The statement further added, “Namrata G Singh and Dr Vishal Chaturvedi are solely authorised to direct public relations, marketing, awards and partnerships on behalf of the Company. All day-to-day coordination with partners, platforms and media is carried out through them.”
It also warned that no individual producer could make business arrangements regarding the film independently. It added that any such dealings would not be recognised by the company or the producers. The makers further noted that anyone, including cast and crew members, wishing to speak publicly or represent Hanuman Ansh at interviews, podcasts, promotional events or other public platforms needs to first seek confirmation through the film’s official communication channels.
Talking of the film’s credit, the statement added that they would remain as mentioned in its official credits and that the company will take necessary steps to safeguard its rights and interests.
Meanwhile, the note also included a disclaimer clarifying the names of the film’s four producers as Namrata G Singh, Dr Vishal Chaturvedi, Ragini Sona and Anupriya Nagar. It said that the rights of the film are jointly held and that decisions concerning publicity, awards, partnerships and rights in India and overseas would require the approval of all four producers as per the production agreement.
Dispute within the teams
The official statement comes as reports of disagreements among the film’s core team have been surfacing. According to an earlier report by Screen, disputes reportedly emerged over the film’s publicity. There were concerns that one producer was receiving more attention than the others.
These differences among the team have also reportedly raised questions regarding the future of the Hanuman Ansh franchise. So far, the team has not made any official announcement about its second instalment despite rumours.
Notably, producer Anupriya Nagar, who joined the film when it was already in post-production, earlier spoke about the film being planned as a trilogy. In an interview, she had shared that the team would come together again for the second part soon.
