Kangana Ranaut says attempts were made to send her to jail during ban

As the controversy surrounding Ranveer Singh`s reported exit from Don 3 continues to make headlines, Kangana Ranaut has weighed in on the matter. Drawing parallels with her own experiences, the actress recalled facing multiple legal cases and being “banned” by the media. She even revealed that people tried to put her in jail.

Kangana Ranaut recalls getting banned

Kangana weighed in on Ranveer`s controversy and recalled the time she was banned and people tried to put her in jail. “Yeah, of course. I was the first one to be banned. They put cases on me. They tried to frame me legally. They tried to put me in jail,” she told Fever FM.

Recalling her own experiences, Kangana added, “At one point, I had so many cases on me that my lawyer was attending all these dates. It was peshiyan hi peshiyan (hearing after hearing). And after that, I was banned by the media. It was a big ban by the media.”

Kangana laughingly said, “Main toh guru hoon. I would say mujhe toh itna ban kiya gaya for years. (I`m a veteran when it comes to this; I`ve been banned so many times over the years.)”

She further added, “So now woh mujhe toh abhi bhi yeh sab bachchon ka khel lagta hai.” (So even now, all of this feels like child`s play to me.)

This is not the first time Kangana has spoken about the issue. At the trailer launch of her upcoming film Bharat Bhagya Vidhata, she supported Ranveer and said, “When one achieves a high status, they attract more enemies. Ranveer Singh should be happy he`s reached a status that has so many enemies now.”

About Ranveer Singh`s Don 3 row

For the uninitiated, the controversy began after reports emerged that Ranveer Singh had stepped away from Farhan Akhtar`s much-awaited action franchise, Don 3. Following his reported exit, Excel Entertainment, Farhan Akhtar`s production house, allegedly claimed that substantial pre-production work had already been carried out for the film.

The matter escalated when the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor. However, in a significant development recently, it withdrew the directive following mediation efforts by the Producers Guild of India, CINTAA, and other industry bodies.

Kangana will next be seen in Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, which is scheduled to release in theatres on June 12, 2026.
