“It was such an honour for the First Minister of Scotland, John Swinney, to visit our home, our office and our world at @dharmamovies! It took me back to shooting my first film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, where we shot some iconic sequences and scenes in the beautiful backdrop of Scotland.

We spoke avidly about my memories and experience and conversed about how we could deepen the friendship between the two countries in the cinematic field. It was a pleasure and more, thank you for gracing us with your presence,” he wrote. It is worth mentioning that Scotland’s iconic landscapes have featured in several Bollywood films, including ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’.

Meanwhile, accompanied by Screen Scotland, the First Minister discussed Scotland’s potential as a filming destination for future Indian film and television productions, backed by its skilled crews, high-quality infrastructure and creative expertise.

The visit also included an industry roundtable convened with the Producers Guild of India, bringing together senior Indian producers and Scottish screen-sector representatives to explore the possibility of a long-term screen partnership between the two countries.
