Actress Manjari Fadnnis has shared a deeply emotional update in the case of Mikey, the community dog whose alleged killing sparked outrage online. In a heartfelt social media post, the actress revealed that an FIR has now been registered and vowed to continue fighting for justice for the beloved animal.
Recalling the days spent searching for Mikey, Manjari wrote that residents of her housing society looked for him tirelessly after he went missing. “For days, we searched for Mikey. Not for a few hours. Not for a day. Day and night,” she wrote.
The actress described Mikey as much more than a community dog, calling him a cherished member of the neighbourhood who had spent years bringing joy to residents.
According to Manjari, what began as a desperate search soon turned into an effort to uncover the truth behind his disappearance. She claimed that clues and evidence gradually emerged, eventually helping authorities move forward with the case.
Manjari seeks justice
In her post, Manjari revealed that the evidence gathered by residents played a crucial role in the investigation.
“Because of the evidence we fought tirelessly to gather, an FIR was finally registered,” she wrote.
The actress further claimed that the case marked a significant moment for animal welfare investigations in India.
“For the first time in India, a state forensic team investigated the killing of a community dog,” she stated.
Manjari also thanked animal welfare activists and supporters who have stood by the residents throughout the process, saying people from across the country had come together to seek justice for Mikey.
Mikey is my priority
The actress admitted that the incident has taken a deep emotional toll on her and others involved.
“Ever since I heard this devastating news, I have not been able to focus on anything else. Mikey is my priority,” she wrote.
Manjari added that work and professional commitments had taken a backseat as she focused on ensuring the case reached its conclusion.
“My work can wait. My commitments can wait. Everything else can wait. What cannot wait is our fight for justice,” she said.
Describing the experience as traumatic, the actress acknowledged there have been moments when the pain felt overwhelming. However, she stressed that giving up was never an option.
“Mikey may no longer be with us, but because of all of you, his voice continues to echo louder than ever. Together, we are Mikey`s voice,” she concluded.
